Words only. One line, sometimes two, in a typeface that does the talking. These are the fastest-turning designs we carry, because the message is the product and the customer already knows which one they want.
Size them by the length of the line, not the height: a five-word phrase wants 10 to 12 inches across an adult front; a single word can go 8 and still read from across a room. On a pocket or sleeve, 3 to 4 inches.
Text designs show a soft print more than any other kind — the edges of the letters are where the eye goes. Our files are clean at any size in the ladder; if you’re bringing your own, keep the type at 6 pt or larger on the print.
