Mountains, pines, bears, trout, the outline of a state you’ve hiked. Outdoor designs sell to trail towns, campground stores, fishing charters, and the guy who wants a shirt from the place he went. They’re strong in the Blue Ridge and the Shenandoah corridor, which is our back yard.
Many of these are single-colour or two-colour line art, which prints crisp and presses easy. The full-colour landscape ones have fine gradient work — those are the ones to keep at 10 inches or larger, where the detail shows. Below 6 inches a gradient starts to band.
If you’re printing for a shop that also wants the design on a hoodie: same transfer, same settings, pre-press the fleece 5 seconds first to flatten it, and go 15 seconds instead of 12. That’s the only change.
